Earlier tonight undefeated welterweight prospect, Raymond "Tito" Serrano continued his rise up the welterweight ranks with a 5th round TKO over Corey Alarcon in the main event of "Unfinished Business" at the South Philly Asylum Arena in Philadelphia, PA. The bout was promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and KEA Boxing Promotions.
The 21-year-old, Serrano dominated Alarcon throughout, dropping him with a hard left hook to the body in round one. Another left hook to the body hurt Alarcon in the second but he was able to stay on his feet.
Rounds three and four were similar with Serrano working behind a piston-like jab to continue punishing his opponent.
In the 5th Serrano really poured it on, unloading with a heavy barrage of punches. A beautifully placed left hook to the head dropped Alarcon for the second time in the fight. Alarcon was able to beat the count but as soon as the bout resumed Serrano jumped all over him dropping him again with a crisp right, left combination. At this point the referee had seen enough and called a halt to the contest at. Official time of stoppage was 44 seconds of the 5th round.
Very impressive showing behind a large contingent of fans for the hometown favorite Serrano.
With the victory Serrano improved to a perfect 15-0, 8KO's. Look for the Philadelphian native to be back in action May 5th on Star Boxing's upcoming card at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, NY.
